BAG T SHIRT

Sunday January 17th

We bought this shirt at Old Navy yesterday. It's bad ass! They also scuffed up the transfer thingy so it looks a little worn and used.

Brandi slept with Isobel last night again. She was pretty crabby. I suspect her two new teeth really are starting to bug her again. Hopefully it's not a new area thing where she's scared of the new bedroom. Man, and she was just starting to sleep for 7 hours at a time. Why can't she go back to that? One of these days.

So I took over baby duty at 6 but she didn't want to go back to bed. We ended up playing in her room for a while before coming out to have a bunch of Rice Krispies. We played around in the living room and Isobel's room. I ended up dozing a little bit in her bed while she motored around her bedroom. Every so often she would come up and scream in my face and wake me out of my doze. I had some of those weird 5 minute dreams. I'm not quite sure when Brandi came out and stole the baby. I suspect it was around 8. Alls I know is I got out of bed around 10ish.

Brandi had already started to organize a bit so I threw on some clothes and took a load of used boxes down to the recycling. We organized things a little bit more and then headed out for a walk. Brandi wore her swimsuit underneath and we packed a bunch of swimming stuff. On the way home from a brief lunch we popped into the swimming pool in our building. It's pretty nice. I might have to tell people to bring suits to our housewarming because it's a nice setup. The hot tub wasn't too hot, Isobel seemed to be ok in it. Not for long periods of time of course.

We got back upstairs and Brandi managed to get most of Isobel's room sorted out while I worked a little on the kitchen and folding clothes and such. I tried to keep Isobel entertained but she kept heading back into her bedroom to see what Brandi was doing.

After Brandi got a bunch of boxes emptied I took two loads down as well as a bit of garbage. The apartment is starting to look a little bit more livable. The farmers pie (like shepherd's pie but with chicken instead of beef) was out of the freezer so we tossed it in the oven. Have I mentioned how much I love our new kitchen? The oven was on and blasting and the outside was as cool as the cupboards. There was no heat coming off of the oven door! We can totally bake things without worrying about Isobel being in the kitchen now!!

We rewatched the first episode of the revamped Dr. Who with Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper. I love that show. Potentially gonna watch the series' again. I hopped in the bath with Isobel and Brandi read a bit more of Something Dawn...whatever the last Edward the pussy-vampire book is.

Now Isobel's in bed and there's emergency vehicles screaming by and I'm hoping she doesn't wake up.

Wartburg students are known to come up with catchy phrases, or pulling off stunts and pranks. This was no different. The Coe-Wartburg game was also known as the "Neil Suckow Bowl." Suckow, a prep All-Stater from Fredericksburg, starred at Coe for three years, before transferring to Wartburg before the start of the spring semester last season.

This didn't go well in Cedar Rapids and the Coe College community, who blamed Wartburg for "recruiting'" him to play for the Knights. Many expected the game to be a bloodbath because Suckow was starting for the Knights.

Not one to miss an opportunity, Wartburg students decided to one-up Kohawk Nation with this t-shirt that says: "Losing too much at Coe? Pack up and move to Wartburg" with Suckow's last name spelled out.

By the way, Suckow scored 3 TD's on 15 touches to torch his old team, 27-3.
